Zitat:CF: Why has the C5 Z06 (and presumably the C6 'Z06') maintained a specification of a solid/fixed hardtop when so many competitors do not? Although there is some performance benefit from reduced flex, how significant can that really be, given that the Porsche 911 Turbo, BMW M3, Viper, Ferarri Modena and others are all offered with an open top variation?
DH: The Z51 performance package represents a fantastic performance upgrade for the targa roof coupe and convertible, with overall performance very close to 2004 Z06 levels with greater driving ease, comfort, features including open air, at a substantial price reduction from Z06. The next Z06 will continue with the formula which began in 2001 and has been so successful: a car specifically created for the extreme performance enthusiast. The fixed roof configuration enables it to be the stiffest, lightest possibility, and that does upgrade its performance and handling. Figure on a fixed roof Z06 while I'm here. And if you want something else, we have great targa coupes and convertibles availible right now.
