Hier die Mail. die ich vom letzten Besitzer bekommen habe, als ich ihm das mit den Lackrissen geschrieben habe:
Hello Mr. Dolf B,
First let me say that I am very sorry that you are sad because that makes me sad also. My wife and I enjoyed Norma Jeane very much over the past few years. The car was like part of our family. I put in many hours and dollars into the car. I told Frank up front that the car was a ‘driver’ and not a ‘trailer queen’ (show car that is never driven but put on a trailer and taken to shows). A show car in perfect condition will cost you much more money than what you paid for Norma Jeane. Norma Jeane is a great driver and most all of her is how she came off the dealer’s show room 55 years ago. As far as the cracks in the paint, I agree that some small cracks could be seen around the corners when looked at very close and your inspector so noted that........ but overall the paint when it left the states was in very good condition and received the top prize at all car shows we entered. I had several seals replace on the car including a complete rebuild of the transmission. I did notice that the rear end was starting to develop a small leak and had plans to replace the seals in the rear end this year. Replacing the seals in the rear end is not a big expense. That car is the very first generation of Corvettes and I have found that those cars need constant care taken and it helps when the owner enjoys making improvements and takes pride in keeping her in top condition, but it will take continued work and effort which for me that was my enjoyment. There are no more C1 corvettes being produced, so keep her maintained and the car will only increase in value. Norma Jeane is a beautiful lady and turned heads when we drove her and I am sure she will do the same in Germany. I wish you only the best.
Regards,
