Hello Dolf,
Norma Jeane was restored completely by Carl Etter during 1993 to 1995. In the manual I sent with the car was a list of owners and dates they owned the car. I gave Frank (your broker) Carl Etter's phone number and he said he would call him to see what kind of paint that was used. You need to talk to Frank and see what he found out about the paint. The car was painted 20 years ago and when I had it there were a few small paint cracks but not as bad as what you now see. Frank told me that it was caused by the German weather. Frank said the car during shipment was out in the rain and then freezing cold. So water got into the small cracks and when the water froze it expanded and caused the cracks to open up more. When I had the car it was always in my nice garage and never saw bad weather. Norma Jeane was treated with tender loving care, never out in the rain and freezing cold. The hard top is new and the paint is only about two years old and no cracks should be in the top but the paint match perfectly with the car because when I ordered the top I sent them the fuel cover so they could match the paint.
I sent you the complete history of the car and all the receipts and you can see that I spend much money on her but the paint was not so bad for me to repaint the car........ other items needed the work and money more. I agree with you that a new paint job will make her look much better. I hope you paint the car back to it's original color which was white. I think the color white is the best on her and it will keep her like she was over 50 years ago.
Good luck to you,
Lewis Horn
